DERMATOSCOPY

This non-invasive diagnostic method used to assess skin lesions and cancer. This method is particularly useful in distinguishing kinds of pigmented lesions. It allows for distinguishing between mild skin lesions, which do not require surgical intervention, and suspicious ones, which need more frequent monitoring or surgical removal. This is particularly important in patients with a large number of skin lesions.

Dermatoscopy allows for the identification of skin cancer even at a very early stage of its development. It should be emphasized that early detection of skin cancer allows for complete recovery.

Dermatoscopy consists in examination of skin lesions with a device which magnifies the image 20 times. It has side lighting, which allows for obtaining the "three-dimensional image" of the skin. Accuracy of diagnosis depends primarily on the experience of the practitioner.
