HYALURONIC ACID (Restylane, Juvéderm)

Hyaluronic acid is a substance naturally occurring in our body, including joints, eye balls, skin. With age, its amount gradually decreases. The results are wrinkles, skin roughness and dehydration which causes wrinkles. In order to prevent or reverse these unfavourable phenomena, hyaluronic acid is applied to the skin. Because hyaluronic acid preparations are almost identical to the hyaluronic acid naturally occurring in the human body, these are very safe wrinkle fillers. They ensure a natural and long lasting effect. They are used to fill shallow and deep wrinkles, for facial modelling, and in many other treatments.

Hyaluronic acid can be applied in the area of:

• nasolabial folds,
• dropping mouth corners,
• wrinkles around the eyes (the so-called "crow's feet")
• wrinkles on the cheeks, around the mouth,
• cheekbones,
• the wrinkle between eyebrows,
• lips (contour and volume).

The effect of wrinkle filling is visible immediately after the treatment. In addition, the injection of hyaluronic acid into the skin stimulates the cells there to produce collagen and elastin, causing its regeneration and strengthening, and thus giving a long-term effect of rejuvenation.

The injection of the filler may take approximately 15-20 minutes depending on the area of application. There are no contraindications for returning to one’s normal activities immediately after the treatment. Slight redness, swelling or bruising may occur after the treatment. However, these symptoms disappear quickly and are easy to conceal with makeup.

The effect lasts on average 9-12 months. Its permanence depends on the patient's lifestyle, age and the area subjected to treatment. It should be noted, however, that the area where hyaluronic acid has been applied preserves its youthful appearance even after absorbing the gel due to the subsequent reconstruction of the skin structure.
